Civil citation for cannabis possession
When a medical cannabis facility is waiting to open in an area of town heavily impacted by policing yet we’re still putting resources into arresting people for cannabis, something is wrong. By switching to a civil citation model we can lighten the burden on our law enforcement and reduce the harm done in our community by the war on drugs.

Upgrading our water and sewer infrastructure using federal funds
Sewage spills and boil water advisories put our most vulnerable citizens at risk. Water is a human right and we must explore federal funds to upgrade our broken system through the American Rescue Plan Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law without raising taxes on working families.

Building an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) Model
Community development must be driven by the people who call our community home, not outside interests or corporations. Milledgeville is rich with talent, passion, and ideas. Rather than focus on what we don’t have, let’s focus on what we DO have.

"We can’t address the mental health, clean water, economic opportunity, and climate change in our community without also addressing the impacts of the larger system we live in. As the white civil rights activist Anne Braden said, “As long as people of color can be written off as expendable, and therefore acceptable victims of the most extreme inequities, none of the basic injustices of our society will be addressed; they will only get worse.” As your councilperson, I will keep this belief central to the work I do in our community. "
